From Mersive Solstice Gen 3 to Mersive Polaris.

You're invested in Mersive Solstice Gen 3. Plan your move to Polaris: what carries forward, which model fits each room, and how Rip and Replace can help with the upgrade.

Why move

What Mersive Polaris adds to Mersive Solstice.

Polaris is the next generation of Mersive Solstice. Gen 3 and Polaris run side by side in the same fleet, so you upgrade room by room as budgets allow instead of replacing a fleet at once. What a room gains when it moves, feature by feature.

CapabilityMersive Solstice Gen 3Mersive Polaris
SharingDesktop client, browser, or the mobile app, provided the device is on the same VLAN as the podAll three of those still work, and none of them require you to be in the room. You can share to the display from the guest network, from another VLAN, or from another city. Sharing from a browser at app.mersive.com installs nothing at all, so guests can share too.
The workspaceMulti-source on the room display(s)Multi-source on the room displays, and the people who could not make it open that same workspace in a browser. They see exactly what the room sees.
Cross-network sharingSame network onlyGuest Wi-Fi, another VLAN, another building, or anywhere else with an internet connection. There is no VPN to set up, and it works on every tier.
Hybrid meetingsBYOD sharingPolaris Pro comes equipped with Polaris Link included. Out of the box, Pro is BYOM capable. Add Polaris Host and the room runs the meeting without requiring a laptop in it at all. HOST SHIPS Q4 2026
Polaris CloudManaged in Mersive Solstice Cloud, linked straight from Polaris Cloud: one starting point with your Polaris fleetEverything Solstice Cloud does today, plus deployment templates, security policy you set once for the whole fleet, and a rebuilt admin experience.
HardwareQualcomm MSM8996 on an Inforce MER-6641 carrier, Android 7; two HDMI outputs and one HDMI input; one wired Ethernet port with PoE+; eMMC storageNew-generation silicon, with real-time encode for wireless BYOM and an NPU on the device itself. Pro drives two displays at 4K (3840 × 2160) 60 Hz each, and sits on your wired and wireless networks at the same time.
Fit for every roomOne pod, one shape: every room gets the same hardware whether it needs it or notThree devices, so you buy what the room actually needs:
SecurityTLS 1.2 on the pod’s own HTTPS interface, with TLS 1.0 and 1.1 refused. 802.1X with EAP-TLS, PEAP, TTLS or EAP-PWD, on wired Ethernet and on Wi-Fi. Upload your own CA bundle, your own 802.1X certificates and your own certificate for the pod’s web interface, or generate a signing request on the pod. HSTS is set on the pod’s HTTPS responses.Hardened by design. Secure boot is mandatory on production firmware, and the pod runs no HTTPS listener at all: signaling and fleet management go outbound over HTTPS to Polaris Cloud. Scan the pod from the network and there is nothing there to negotiate against, where Gen 3 served its own web interface over TLS. You set security policy once in Polaris Cloud and it lands on every room, instead of configuring each one.
Getting it on the networkSame-VLAN discovery; segmented networks meant network engineeringThe cloud introduces the two ends to each other across VLANs and guest networks, then they connect directly. No VPN, and no inbound firewall rules to argue over with your network team. Native AirPlay and Google Cast discovery still needs multicast on the room network, but joining from the web does not.

Your Mersive Solstice Gen 3 fleet stays visible in Polaris Cloud through the whole transition. Nothing goes dark while you move. Curious how the platform got here? The fifteen-year story →

Start where you are

Three starting points, three mapped paths.

“I have 10 rooms.”

Start with a trial kit in one room, then plan the rollout with your integrator. Polaris Pro offers a one-for-one upgrade from Mersive Solstice Gen 3; Essentials fits rooms that only need wireless presentation. Schedule each room’s installation and testing separately to keep disruption contained.

Start with a trial →

“I run a campus.”

Choose Polaris Essentials for presentation-focused classrooms and Polaris Pro for conferencing rooms. For classrooms that need Route, plan around its scheduled Q1 2027 release. Upgrade building by building while Mersive Solstice Cloud continues to manage your Gen 3 rooms, with linked access from Polaris Cloud.

“I manage an enterprise fleet.”

Start with the security pack so your review team can assess the platform before rollout. Work with your integrator to coordinate upgrades by region or business unit. Use Polaris Cloud templates to apply consistent room profiles across new devices, keeping each phase aligned with your organization’s standards.

Reassurance, itemized

What carries forward.

Your rooms

Keep your displays, mounts, cabling, and room AV. The upgrade replaces the pod behind the display. Your Mersive Solstice Gen 3 devices remain supported through their published support dates.

Your workflows

Keep the walk-up sharing and side-by-side content your users already know. Polaris builds on those familiar workflows with web join and the Dock.

Your management

Polaris Cloud gives your team one starting point for both fleets, with a direct link to Mersive Solstice Cloud to manage your Gen 3 devices. Each platform manages its own devices as you upgrade in stages, and Mersive Solstice documentation remains publicly available.
